Get Well Soon, Ivan (of Thrilling Days of Yesteryear fame)

After several days of escalating worry about Ivan Shreve of Thrilling Days of Yesteryear (I’m a worrier; it’s my super power) I finally discovered today via Edward Copeland that Ivan is ill and in the hospital. Ivan’s blog and SBBN share several readers, and I thought you’d want to know.

Ivan, if you’re reading this — you did sneak a few laptops and DVDs into the hospital with you, right? — I hope you get better soon. We miss you.

I don’t know any more than what was posted on Edward Copeland’s blog, but if anyone has any information, please pass it along. I can’t screen comments, so if you want to email me instead of post here, drop me a line: she (at) or glitterninja (at)

UPDATE: Ivan is in Room 5127 per Eddie Copeland (formerly in Room 5401) at the Athens Regional Medical Center and there is no set release date as of yet out of the hospital as of now. Yay! From what I’ve heard, I’m reassured he’ll be back to blogging soon. Which is good, because Thrilling Days of Yesteryear provides at least 50% of my online Jack Benny intake. Ivan’s hospital has an eGreetings system here that you can use to leave him a note if you want.

I plan on harassing him I mean sending him lovely notes at least once a day.

Damn. Ivan’s a great guy. I hope things go well.

  2. Vanwall says:

I sent him a rude…er…nice note, thanks for the link, Stacia!

  3. Stacia says:

No prob. Thank Jim Neibaur, actually, he was able to get in touch with a family member who gave me more info. He and Edward Copeland did most of the work, I just emailed and Tweeted a lot.

  4. Vanwall says:

I mentioned it on FB, too, where I see Ivan often, and Self-Styled Siren has picked up on it. Fingers – and toes – crossed.

  5. Stacia says:

Jim N posted on Facebook as well. It took a while, but I think we’re getting everyone notified. (If I hadn’t been sick all last week and had logged on, I would have noticed he was offline much longer than is usual and started looking for him sooner.)

  6. Scott says:

Thanks for the update, Stacia. I’ve posted on my blog and asked everyone to bombard Ivan with good wishes.

  7. Tom says:

Get well soon, Ivan! Miss you!

  8. faustina says:

Good to have this network of folks all looking out for each other! I do thank you for the info… I had so missed reading the boy’s work!
