Good post-Halloween morning, darlings, and good luck to all of you who woke up this morning with a candy hangover, and those of you who have only just now reached the advanced age where you’re discovering that candy hangovers are real. I think I was in my mid-30s when I first stumbled out of bed and started administering my usual hangover cure, only to stare at my own bloodshot eyes in the mirror and realize that I had not actually been drinking the night before. What happened? Fun size Snickers happened, that’s what freakin’ happened.
But here’s some good news to soothe your groggy soul: Barry at Cinematic Catharsis and Gill at RealWeegieMidget Reviews are hosting the fifth annual Hammer-Amicus Blogathon! The fifth! That’s cool as hell.

Also cool as hell is this lovely note Gill received from Hammer Horror alum Judy Matheson about the blogathon! Check out the full post for more info about the ‘thon, plus links to more top-notch Judy Matheson content. More info is at Barry’s site here, and a list of all the participants so far is here. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic ‘thon.
Yours truly has signed on to do Man Bait (1952), originally released as The Last Page, the first Hammer film directed by the legendary Terence Fisher. Many years ago I briefly started on a Diana Dors project, which included a few reviews and some photos, including the one really lovely cheesecake nude of her that I posted back in 2011. It’s one of the most popular posts on this blog, for obvious reasons. I’ve always felt that I didn’t really give Diana or her movies much of a chance, mostly because I saw An Alligator Named Daisy (1955) early on in the project and, brother, I hated that movie. Also, if you browse the project posts, you’ll notice that half of them read like I was six years old and writing in crayon. The Hammer-Amicus Blogathon is not only going to be a ton of fun, but it’s giving me a chance to rectify some of those problems, I hope.

I hope you’ll join me and all the other fine bloggers for the Hammer-Amicus Blogathon V, starting November 7th!
